Expertise and Activity Statement
Dr. Lynn Maurer specializes in the comparative politics of Western and Eastern Europe, comparative legislatures, women and international politics, and democratization.  Her research focuses on the Spanish parliament and the advancement of women in the STEM disciplines.  She received her Ph.D. and M.A. in Political Science from The Ohio State University and her B.A. in Spanish from Otterbein University.  She also holds a Certificate of International Relations from the University of Dijon, France.  

Dr. Maurer currently serves as Dean of the College of Graduate and Professional Studies and Chief Research Officer. She comes to ISU after 18 years at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where she served as Professor and Chair of Political Science and Associate Dean of the Graduate School.  Dr. Maurer is a member of the Midwest Political Science Association, the American Political Science Association, the Council of Graduate Schools, the Midwest Association of Graduate Schools, and the National Council of Research Administrators.
