ISUMS Checklist

Some important information for those planning on being a part of the 2020 Marching Sycamores

Band camp is 9 August - 15 August (leadership, drumline, and guard all arrive earlier). For specific schedules, as well as a slew of other information, please check the tentative Camp Schedule.
Start meeting your fellow Marching Sycamores, vote on show music selections, or get previews of the arrangements for our shows as I work on them (as well as other information) by joining our Facebook group.
Register for the REMIND texting service (used for last-minute rehearsal changes or cancellations). Make sure you input a number you can receive texts. Assign yourself the role of “Student” when joining, or you won’t receive all texts.
Want to get a head start on memorizing your Pregame Music and the Short Cheers? Or maybe you just want a taste of what the Stands music and Show music will be like? You can find music, drill (eventually), and other miscellaneous files in our File Center - to receive a link, make sure you have filled out the ISUMS information form

Have you registered for the course? The Marching Sycamores are an actual credited class through the University, and all members must be registered. If you have not done so already, please take care of this ASAP (freshmen, you will not be able to register until New Student Orientation). The following options are available:

Underclassmen:  MUS 109, Section 1 CRN: 50002 (1 credit)
Underclassmen:  MUS 109, Section 2 CRN: 51347 (0 credit) - you can only take this option if you have 18 credit hours already.
Upperclassmen:  MUS 409, Section 1 CRN: 50090 (1 credit)
Upperclassmen:  MUS 409, Section 2 CRN: 51783 (0 credit) - you can only take this option if you have 18 credit hours already.

Are you interested in playing in a concert ensemble (Wind Orchestra, Wind Symphony, Concert Band, etc.)? You do NOT need to be a music major to play in a group. Audition materials and sign up times are posted on our Audition Page (if you are frightened by the prospect of an audition, you can also participate in the Concert Band, which is a non-auditioned group...just come and play, stress-free!)
The new Course Handbook is online. You will all eventually have to read through it (because there will be a grade involved), so take a look at it when you get a chance (and if you want to take your Handbook Exam early, you can do so if you have access to the class page through Blackboard).
Do you have limited marching experience (or maybe you want to brush up on your drill chart/coordinate sheet comprehension)? Then check out our Primer and our Glossary, both of which should prove extremely helpful.

Drumline hopefuls - the audition packet can be found in our Dropbox File Center (see above).

Color Guard, by now you should have submitted an audition to Becky. If you have not done so already, contact us ASAP.

Section Leaders, now is the time to start contacting your section members and making sure that they have all the information they need and all their questions answered. If you have "misplaced" the most current roster, check the Facebook group, or contact me directly.
