Band Camp Schedule

BAND CAMP ARRIVAL SCHEDULE

​All members of the Marching Sycamores should plan to arrive on campus for Band Camp on the following days. Please check back with us in a few weeks, as the detailed camp schedule is still being constructed. DO NOT arrive earlier than your expected report time (there will be no housing for you!) Arriving later than your expected report time would also be a bad thing. :-) 

  • Thursday, 4 August : Leadership Team Reports.
  • Friday, 5 August : Drumline Members Report.
  • Sunday, 7 August : ALL Brass/Woodwind/Guard Report. This is the official start of Camp.

Thursday, 4 August – LEADERSHIP TEAM Reports

  • 10:00 AM : Leadership: Meeting (CRH)
  • 11:00 AM : Leadership: Preparatory Work
  • 12:00 PM : Move In (for Leadership living on campus - report directly to your assigned temporary housing, staff should be on site to assist)
  • 02:00 PM : Leadership: Preparatory Work
  • 03:00 PM : Leadership: Uniform Fittings (managers and assistants)
  • 06:00 PM : Dinner
  • 07:00 PM : Leadership: Preparatory Work
  • 07:15 PM : Leadership: Uniform Fittings (section leaders)
  • 09:00 PM : Dismissal

Friday, 5 August – DRUMLINE & LEADERSHIP - Report/Register/Rehearse

  • 09:00 AM : Leadership: Uniform Fittings (managers and assistants)
  • 10:00 AM : Drumline: Registration begins (CRH, aka Landini 159 -  Drumline registration lasts from 10:00am until 12:00pm. You may register at any point during that time period).
  • 12:00 PM : Drumline: Move into your temporary University housing assignment. Report directly to your assigned temporary housing, staff should be on site to assist.
  • 12:30 PM : Lunch
  • 02:30 PM : Drumline: Rehearsal - Room 150 (or outside, weather permitting)
  • 05:00 PM : Dinner
  • 07:00 PM : Drumline: Rehearsal - Room 150 (or outside, weather permitting)
  • 09:00 PM : Dismissal

Saturday, 6 August – DRUMLINE & LEADERSHIP

  • 09:00 AM: Drumline: Rehearsal - Room 150 (or outside, weather permitting)
  • 10:00 AM : Leadership: Preparatory Work
  • 12:00 PM : Lunch
  • 02:00 PM : Drumline: Rehearsal - Room 150 (or outside, weather permitting)
  • 02:00 PM : Leadership: Preparatory Work
  • 05:00 PM : Drumline: Rehearsal Ends
  • 05:00 PM : Leadership: Preparatory Work Ends
  • 05:15 PM : Drumline: Uniform Fittings – BSH (Band Storage Hall). Designated leadership assists with fittings. Dismissal for the evening (AFTER you have been fitted)

Sunday, 7 August – ALL Guard, Brass, & Woodwinds RRR – Report/Register/Rehearse

Sunday, 7 August is the first day that the full band reports. Our registration is open from 10:00am until 02:00pm, and you may register at any time in that time window; however, we advise that if you are moving into University Housing at noon, you come in early so that you may take your time moving in and saying goodbye to family. Those who live off-campus might find it easier to register during the 12-2pm window, when most underclassmen are moving into their housing.

At registration, you will receive an information packet, have your information confirmed, and will be able to purchase any of the required items that you did not bring (gloves, shoes, lyres, flip folders, etc.)  Instrument rentals will also take place at this time (rental fees for marching band-specific instruments are covered by the band).

  • 10:00 AM : Drumline: Rehearsal - Room 150 (or outside, weather permitting)
  • 10:00 AM : ISUMS Registration and Member Check-in Begins (CRH, aka Landini 159)/Uniform fittings (BSH, aka Band Storage Hall)
  • 12:00 PM : Drumline: Rehearsal Ends/Lunch/Move into permanent housing
  • 12:00 PM : On-Campus Residents: move into your permanent University housing assignment (you should already have signed up for a time slot)
  • 02:00 PM : ISUMS Registration Ends
  • 04:00 PM : WELCOME MEETING – Everyone (Winds, Drumline, Guard – BRH)
  • 04:30 PM : Sectional Meet-and-Greet/Dinner
  • 06:30 PM : Winds and Percussion: Music Rehearsal (CRH, aka Landini 159)/Color Guard: Rehearsal (location TBA)
  • 09:00 PM : Rehearsal Ends/Social Hour
  • 10:00 PM : Dismissal - Be smart, rest up and hydrate for tomorrow!

Monday, 8 August – Friday, 12 August

Note: All rehearsals are interchangeable in the case of inclement weather. An outdoor rehearsal might become an indoor rehearsal when the weather is not cooperating, while an indoor rehearsal may become an outdoor rehearsal if the weather is clear. You will receive advance notice of any rehearsal changes via the REMIND texting service, so keep your phones charged and nearby.

  • Morning : No Rehearsal / School of Music Ensemble Auditions (for those interested)
  • 03:00 PM : Meet at CRH to prepare for Convocation (B Uniform Required*)
  • 04:00 PM : Convocation/March through the Arch
  • 06:00 PM : Dismissal (tentative)
