Academic Advisement

Indiana State University is committed to providing quality advising.

Overview

All students seeking graduate degrees or programs are assigned academic advisors. Students can determine their assigned advisors by consulting the college or the department.

Advising is a central component of success. Students who work closely with their advisors are more likely to meet their goals and achieve academic success. Students should maintain regular contact with their advisors, and are expected to work with their advisors prior to registration each semester to ensure the proper sequencing of courses.

Application for Change in Advisor

To initiate a change in advisors, graduate students must print and complete this application for change in advisors and obtain the signatures of their current and new advisors, department chairs, and staff in the College of Graduate & Professional Studies.
