Welcome to the Bayh College of Education. On behalf of our award-winning faculty and staff, I bring you greetings and invite you to explore our nationally recognized programs throughout this website.
Indiana State University has a long and illustrious history preparing educators and human service professionals who make a positive impact on the lives of children and communities across the nation. It is with great pride that the College continues to fulfill its mission in preparing, promoting, and advancing education and human service professionals for a diverse and ever-changing world. In the Bayh College of Education, we value student success, social justice and diversity, honesty, collegiality, caring for others, responsibility, and openness to change.
We offer a variety of programs that range from teacher education and educational administration to speech language pathology, counseling, and higher education administration and student affairs. In addition to offering a variety of academic programs, the Bayh College of Education is home to the Norma and William Grosjean Clinic, Blumberg Center, Indiana Principal Leadership Institute, AdvancED, Center for Mathematics Education, and a four-star NAEYC-accredited Early Childhood Education Center.
Strong advising, dedicated and caring faculty and staff, rigorous and relevant programming, and engaged students significantly contribute to our success. Throughout their program of study, students engage in high quality content and clinically based learning experiences. For example, in our nationally recognized Teachers of Tomorrow Advancing Learning (TOTAL) program, students participate in an intensive, bell-to-bell clinical placement under the collaborative leadership of their coaching teachers and university faculty members. In addition, students have opportunities to join one or more of our professional student organizations and participate in global educational experiences and faculty-led study abroad trips to locations around the world. In recent years, we have traveled to India, Ireland, China, Australia, Thailand, and South Africa.
