6 p.m. as seating becomes available.

You can attend workshops on Oct. 23-24 free of charge. You only need to check-in and get a day pass each day!

Paying the registration fee of $55 allows you entry into all workshops, meals, registration materials, symposium gift and raffle tickets for hourly

Oct. 23 - Keynote speaker Rodney Patterson

Mr. Patterson received trainer/facilitator certifications while working with several major companies including ProGroup, Inc., Advanced Research Management Corporation (ARMC), Stir Fry Seminars and Carlson Learning Company. While Trumping the Race Card: A National Agenda – Moving Beyond Race and Racism is his first book, Rodney was a contributing author on the book, Men to Men: Perspectives of Sixteen African-American Christian Men, published by Zondervan in 1996. His chapter entitled, “Male Bonding: Men Relating to Men” is still a relevant piece of literature today. Rodney Patterson has served as the primary diversity resource for a multi-billion dollar system serving agriculture for the past decade. Prior to serving in that capacity, Mr. Patterson supported a wide range of corporate clients as senior facilitator for the Boston-based consulting firm, Global Novations and as director of consulting and talent management for Hudson Highland, aleading global provider of talent management solutions. Before entering the corporate world, he spent nearly 15 years in academia, leading diversity-related activities long before the title of chief diversity officer existed. He also served as president of Hales Franciscan High School in Chicago and as a board member, teacher and coach for two Chicago-based educational institutions. In addition to his academic work, Mr. Patterson has consulted with the NCAA and has worked directly with professional sports teams. He is an author and accomplished public speaker. Mr. Patterson earned a Bachelor’s degree in theology from Valparaiso University and a Master’s degree in higher education administration from Michigan State University.
