Indiana State is pleased to host the fourth annual Statewide Student Success Conference. Staff and faculty interested in innovative ideas and approaches to supporting the success of low income, first generation, and students of color are encouraged to come. Featured presenters include Steve Katsouros, dean and executive director of Arrupe College in Chicago, one of the most innovative institution in the U.S. serving historically marginalized students. He will lead a workshop entitled An Asset Narrative: Reimagining Higher Education and offer insights on how to support such students that aligns values, behaviors, policy, and practice. Our featured lunch keynote and invited breakout session presenter is Eileen Truax, acclaimed author and journalist, who writes and reports extensively on Dreamers, immigration, and the opportunities of a college education. She will speak to themes in support of students from Hispanic/Latino backgrounds and from her two books, Dreamers: An Immigrant Generation\'s Fight for the American Dream and How Does it Feel to be Unwanted? Stories of Resistance and Resilience from Mexicans Living in the U.S. See the conference website for more information and how to register.
