Please join Art Spaces Tuesday, November 1st, at 5:30 pm at the Library Events Area in Cunningham Memorial Library at 510 N 6th 1/2 St, Terre Haute, IN 47809. Parking will be free and available after 5:00 pm in the lot on the north side of the library. Ian Carey, the Permanent Art Collections Curator at Indiana State University, will reflect on recent acquisitions to the Permanent Art Collection at Indiana State University and how they relate to his future goals for the collection. The lecture will focus on three main themes - the body and its contemporary portrayal, contemporary photography, and our shifting understanding of abstraction with a question and answer session to follow. Admission to the event is free and the public is invited. No R.S.V.P. is required. Light refreshments will be available. Before moving to Terre Haute, he as taught courses in Painting, Drawing, The Philosophy of Art, and Museum Studies. He is also a working artist that has shown pieces nationally.
