First Year Composition presented by the "Our Foundational Studies Community"

The University College Council (UCC), as part of "Our Foundational Studies Community" series, presents a session on First Year Composition. Many faculty may have questions about what skills students develop in First Year Composition courses.

A panel of First Year Composition instructors will discuss the nature of the First Year Composition experience, lay out some common challenges in writing with our students, as well as strategies to handle such issues; and more generally engage the audience in a discussion of how to approach writing more broadly with first year students across the Foundational Studies curriculum.
