Description

Marsha Miller, Research and Instruction Librarian, recently retired [semi] after 36 years at Indiana State University. In this Inspiring Women program, she will concentrate on her 41 years as a member of the American Association of University Women [AAUW] and the leadership opportunities she has had in that time, including a five-year term as the State President in Indiana. Joining in Arkansas in 1981 [the centennial of AAUW’s founding], among her state leadership opportunities were being in charge of “Peace and National Security” issues.

In keeping with Women’s History Month, she will also speak on the 2012-2020 Women’s Equality Day annual events organized by the League of Women Voters – Vigo County along with ISU and other community partners. AAUW’s social justice issue priorities will be included. AAUW offers various membership opportunities, including free memberships for women and men undergraduate students at partner institutions such as ISU. If time allows she will mention some highlights of Hoosier women’s suffrage history.
