Library Research Assignment Design Part 1: Assessing the Current Situation

Written requirements often do not provide enough details for the students to successfully complete the writing/research assignment. Requirements for research papers are not scaled within the academic department or program.  Assignments assume student abilities to perform that may not be justified.
