Description

This session will feature a panel discussion on racial trauma as a shared but unique experience, preventive self-care, and recovery strategies, with a special emphasis on mindfulness. One of the most common translations of namaste is, "The divine light in me bows to the divine light in you." Namaste is a guiding life principle that urges us to understand and connect with others. Racial trauma is a collective experience, yet deeply personal. Namaste the Black Way refers to acting compassionately, avoiding competition, and refraining from judgement because we have all been hurt, and for the same reason. It's understanding that there are many ways people express and deal with pain but we are more alike then we are different. Namaste the Black Way means connecting with the pain, in ourselves and each other, to find strength and healing. This session will feature a panel discussion on racial trauma as a shared but unique experience, preventive self-care, and recovery strategies, with a special emphasis on mindfulness.
