Description

Sycamore SafeZone (SSZ) is an ally development program created to establish a campus that is safe and affirming for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) students, faculty and staff.

Advanced Level 3 - Sycamore Advocates - Advanced Safe Zone training are designed for participants who have completed Safe Zone 101 and Sycamore Ally portions of Safe Zone. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of specific target topics and identities while focusing on sexual orientation vs. gender identity, coming out process, race, religion, identity development models, and cisgender privilege. The purpose of these workshops is to allow participants to discuss and think critically on how our university can continue to be a safe space for the LGBTQ community and what participants can do to become stronger allies and advocates. Levels 1 & 2 are prerequisites.
