Please join us for our first Theodore Dreiser Visiting Writers Series event this semester, a reading, Q&A, and book signing featuring Indiana Poet Laureate Curtis L. Crisler. The event takes place on Thursday, September 12 at 6:00 pm in the Yang Family University Art Gallery (Landini Center for the Performing and Fine Arts) 300 North 7th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47809.
Sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences, the Department of English, and the Creative Writing Program, this event is free and open to the public.
Curtis L. Crisler is an award-winning poet/author, born and raised in Gary, Indiana. His newest release, Doing Drive-Bys on How to Love in the Midwest won the C&R Press Award for poetry. He has six poetry books, two YA books, and five poetry chapbooks and is co-editor of poetry with the museum of americana. Crisler been published in a variety of magazines, journals, and anthologies, and writes in a variety of genres, including poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, drama, essays, and young adult literature. He created the Indiana Chitlin Circuit and a contemporary poetry form called the sonastic. He's the Indiana Poet Laureate and Professor of English at Purdue University Fort Wayne (PFW).
