Description

Grades are often a considerable obstacle in the learning process. Grades and grading are embedded in the LMS, a rigid, number-driven system. However, teaching and learning don't have to be this way. In this presentation, the experience of using a grading contract in upper-division Communication courses, emphasizing how both faculty and student experiences were transformed by throwing out the grade book will be shared. Topics will include managing the LMS, communicating expectations to students, analysis of student reflections, and tips for success. This will be a streaming event. The presenter is Andrea Quenette, Indiana University East.
