Exit Counseling

Federal Direct Subsidized or Unsubsidized Loans

All borrowers of these loans are required to complete Exit Counseling upon graduating or dropping below halftime enrollment.

Some of the benefits of completing Exit Counseling include the following:

  • Detailed information about lowering monthly loan payments, from flexible "Pay as you Earn" plans, to graduated, income-based, or extended repayment plans;
  • Options for eliminating loan debt altogether through public service, military service, or discharge; and
  • Information about consolidating loans into one easy to manage consolidation loan.

Federal Perkins Loans

Perkins Loan Borrowers must complete exit counseling in person by visiting the Office of the Controller in Parsons Hall 100. Failure to complete exit counseling will result in a hold being placed on the student account that will prevent graduation as well as access to academic transcripts.
