How to Find More Money
If a student applies for Financial Aid by submitting the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), the Office of Student Financial Aid will consider the student for all forms of student aid, including federal, state, or ISU-specific grants and scholarships. Students must meet all regular financial aid eligibility requirements for the loan to be certified.
If eligible, the student will also be offered Federal Direct Stafford Loans. These loans do not require a credit check and the student must apply through the school.
If additional assistance is needed, parents may consider borrowing a Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan. This loan does require a credit check. Applications are submitted through StudentLoans.gov. For more information on Parent PLUS loans and how to apply - click here.
Alternatively, students may consider a private student loan through the lender of their choice.
