Flu shots for Employees  Email for the dates and times Union Hospital staff are coming to campus.  Please complete the Flu Shot Consent Form and bring to the flu shot clinics with your University ID.  Employees must wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines.

"Half-Way There" TIAA Retirement Planning program for ISU Employees June 18, 2020  12-1pm  Register with and login to your account.

FOCUS FOUR online challenge starts May 18 Wellness is more than a number on a scale. The Focus Four challenge helps you focus on not just your weight, but your activity level, nutrition and daily stress management. Registration is now open and the challenge starts May 18th.  You can create a team or join on your own.  Prizes will be awarded.  Download the Registration directions to get started!    


STATE crosses the state challenge:  virtually walk or run across the state of Indiana!  Starting April 20, employees are invited to track their steps, walks and runs.  Our goal is 155 miles by May 17.  Weekly emails with a Leaderboard will be sent to participants.  Register with

The Inside Track: helping employees navigate the college experience at ISU. April 16 12:15-12:45pm.  Learn about the application process, financial aid deadlines and notifications and the employee fee waiver program.  Join employees from Admission, Financial Aid and Employee Wellness for a short recorded presentation and live video Q&A.  Register by emailing to receive private video link.  

Colon Health Display   Walk through a giant, inflatable colon section to learn more about how to care for your health and prevent disease.  Drop in March 2, 2020 between 3:00-7:00pm in Dede 1 in Hulman Memorial Student Union. Thank you to Dr. Sharma for bringing this educational display to ISU and the Wabash Valley!  

Minute of Mindfulness online challenge: Learn to lower your stress and improve your health!  Participate in this 4 week challenge at your own pace and at your own place.  Earn points by learning and practicing meditation, breathing, stress relieving activities and self-care.  Registration opens February 10, 2020 and the challenge starts February 17, 2020.  Login to your account to get started or click here for registration directions

Lose a Pound Give a Pound Challenge  Do you have a weight loss goal for the new year?  Pledge to donate one pound of food for every pound you lose between Jan 6 and Feb 28, 2020.  Your loss will be the gain of the Sycamore Pantry.  Your weight and weight loss are confidential.  We donated over 150 pounds of food in 2019!  Email to register.

Indoor Ironman Triathlon   Challenge yourself or a team of 3 to complete Ironman distances running/walking, swimming and biking at the Student Recreation Center. Registration starts Jan 20 and will close Jan 24 or when maximum is reached.  The Triathlon challenge starts Feb 3 and ends Feb 28, 2020.  Register at the SRC Membership desk or call the SRC at 812-237-4097.

Personal workout program for employees: Employees have the opportunity for individual and group training with PE392 students starting February 13, 2020.  The program is open to faculty, staff and spouses and is appropriate for all fitness levels.  Plan to learn new skills during the 8 week program under the supervision of a faculty member.  Contact for more information.  

Pickleball Open Play at the SRC.  Courts will be available for open play Fridays 11:30am-1:30pm and Saturdays 8:30-11:30am  Grab a racket at the front desk and join in a pick-up game!

Lighten Up Blue  Group weight loss classes for employees.  Join the 6 week session starting Tuesday, January 14, 2020.  We will meet each week at 12:15-12:45pm in Rankin Hall 303.  Arrive by 12 if you wish to weigh in.  Email to register.

Employee Wellness Week at the SRC   Join us for a week of programming at the Student Recreation Center just for employees.  Jan 6-10, 2020 Learn new skills, try a group ex class, meet a personal trainer, take a walking challenge and more!

Healthy Habits on-line Challenge:  Join this six-week comprehensive wellbeing challenge and learn to build healthy habits that keep you eating, sleeping and moving well each and every day! The challenge will include daily and weekly goals. 2K Tuesday Challenge  2K Tuesday Challenge  Join employees from ISU, downtown and Purdue Extension on a 1.25 mile walk every Tuesday in October and November.  Click here for the November campus route and tracking sheet.

Lighten Up Blue weight loss group  Join other employees who are wanting to improve their health by reducing their weight.  We will learn about healthy meal plans, portion sizes, exercise programs and goal setting. Half Marathon Employee Training Groups.  Are you interested in walking or running the September Crossroads Half Marathon race?  Attend the information session Thursday, May 2 from 4:30-5:00pm in HMSU 321.  Learn how to register for the race and meet other employees to form training groups. 

Wellness Workshop "Preventing and treating Injuries in exercising adults" Thursday, June 13, 2019 11:30am  235 SCHW Sycamore Center for Health and Wellness (567 N 5th Street)  Stay active this summer!  Dr. Jimmie Storms and Dr. Justin Applegate, Physical Therapists at ISU PT & Sports Rehabilitation Clinic, will share their knowledge to help us prevent and treat common injuries that occur.

Wellness Workshop "Managing Stress and Anxiety" 1:30-2:00pm  Thursday, May 30, 2019 in HMSU 321 Raymond Contreras, Physican Assistant and Assistant Professor, will help employees identify signs and adpot coping skills to manage stress and depression.  Amy Demchak, Employee Wellness Coordinator will provide information on EAP services.

Wellness Workshop "Office Ergonomics"   1:30-2:00pm Monday, April 22, 2019 in HMSU 321. Small changes to our office environment and work habits can improve our health.  Join Priya Bakshi, Asst Professor of Occupational Therapy for a brief presentation, Q&A and demonstrations. 

Sleep Soundly  2:30-3:00pm Friday, March 15, 2019  Stop by the lobby of Rankin Hall to take a short sleep survey and pick up tips on ways to sleep more soundly.  The first 20 employees who stop by will be gifted a blanket.  No need to register.

Wellness Workshop "Under Pressure:  Blood pressure and heart health" February 28, 2019 at 11:30am in the Library Events Area.  Kim Rhodes, NP Union Occupational Health, will present how we can care for our heart health.  Stay and have your blood pressure checked after the presentation.  

Wellness Workshop "Motivation for Healthy Behavior Changes"  12:00-12:30pm March 8, 2019 at CHHS room A 125   Are you having trouble meeting those New Year's Resolutions?  Motivational Interviewing may help!  Doctor of Physical Therapy students, under faculty supervision of Dr. Howell Tapley, will offer free sessions to help you improve your health behaviors.

The Daily Mile Campus Challenge Kick off our first challenge of 2019 on Jan 14,.  We will challenge ourselves to walk one mile during the work day.  Between 8:00am-4:30pm, (or your work shift) log 2,000 steps.  Invite other members of your department to join you and make it a friendly competition.  When you register, you will receive a tracking sheet and 0.5 and 1.0 mile campus walking routes.  Register at and indicate “The Daily Mile” in the subject line. 

Employee Open House at the Student Recreation Center Employees are invited to visit the SRC and participate in an interactive tour.  Participants will be entered into a drawing for five group training sessions.  Plan to come to the SRC during one of four open house sessions.  Tues Jan 8, 2019 from 12:00-12:30 or 2:00-2:30pm or Monday, Jan 14, 2019 from 10:00-10:30 or 12:00-12:30pm.  Earn an extra entry into the drawing if you register and attend.  Register by emailing
