Rental Laptop Pickup | 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM | Stalker Hall, Room 14
  • If you have rented a laptop for the fall 2018 semester, you can pick up your laptop in the basement of Stalker Hall. Students must have applied to rent a laptop prior to pick up. Payment and IDs are required when picking up rental laptops
Wooden Bedloft Distribution | 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM | Residence Hall Basments
  • Did you sign-up to receive a wooden bedloft for your room? If so, head down to the basement of your specific residence hall to pick it up. If you ordered a Micro-Fridge or futon, see the times for "Metal Bedloft Distribution."

  • Stop by for expert tips and help with some of the technology available to ISU students, including: student printing, software downloads, and wireless connectivity. Pick up free snow cones, popcorn, water, and giveaway items, plus, enter for a chance to win major prizes. You don’t want to miss this!

  • First year students and returning students are welcomed to the "neighborhood".  Come join Union Board and the Student Homecoming Committee in the Hulman Memorial Student Union for a fun filled night of laser tag and other activities!

  • As a first-year commuter student, Commuter Connections will introduce to you various resources that you will utilize during your Sycamore experience. Topics might include commuter events, MapWorks, making connections, and much more. **After Commuter Connections we will continue as a group to Convocation
University Welcome and Convocation (REQUIRED) | 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM | Hulman Center
  • Fall Convocation is STATE's official kick-off to the academic year to welcome incoming students of Indiana State University! (Meet with your Residential Life staff members or Commuter Connections friends to walk over together)
March Through the Arch (REQUIRED) | 6:00 PM - 6:45 PM | Arch 
  • March from Convocation to the ISU Arch and step on the University seal. On the other side of the arch, President Bradley will be waiting to welcome and congratulate you on officially becoming a Sycamore!
SGA Fountain Party | 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM | Dede Plaza, Fountain 
  • SGA will host a great event with food and music around the fountain
Back in YOUR SPOT | 10:00:00 PM | Residence Hall Lobbies

  • The Fraternity and Sorority Community invites all students to join them on Wolf Field for a sneak peek into greek life. This backyard cookout provides an opportunity for new students to meet with members from all fraternities and sororities and learn more about each chapter

  • The Student Employment Job Fair is a fantastic way for every Indiana State University student to discover student job opportunities with both our on-campus employers and our off-campus Federal Work Study partner agencies/organizations.  You don’t want to miss this event if you are seriously looking for a job for the 2018-17 academic year! All students seeking employment are encouraged to attend. Pre-registration is not required. Bring your resume, if you have one! Remember first impressions are lasting ones – so no shorts, T-shirts, or flip flops allowed! 
John Beacon 5K Fun Run | 2:30 PM - 5:00 PM | Meet at Fountain
  • Run, walk, or roll in the John Beacon 5K to raise money for first-year student scholarships! Registration is $5 for students and $10 for non-students. You can read more information and register online at indstate.edu/beacon5k
International Street Food Festival | 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM | Gillum Hall Lawn, Quad
  • The International Street Food Festival is a great way to taste the foods from the diverse cultures and communities represented at ISU, such as India, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Venezuela, and others. If you ever wanted to see the world, start at home by learning about the culture and traditions of other countries, while trying food and drink from around the world. This event is free and open to the public. So, what are you waiting for?
Rec Fest | 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM | Student Recreation Center
  • All students are welcomed to the 9th Annual Rec Fest on August 25 from 6-9 pm. This year’s theme is Recapalooza! Come and take part in the musical festival environment with DJ’s, dance performances, game booths, food and prizes. The first 1,000 students get a commemorative T-shirt!
