Fiction writer Veronica Montes will read for The Theodore Dreiser Visiting Writers Series on Thursday, March 11th at 6:00 pm via Zoom. This reading is free and open to the public. Veronica Montes is the author of Benedicta Takes Wing & Other Stories (Philippine Literary House) and the chapbook The Conquered Sits at the Bus Stop, Waiting (Black Lawrence Press), which won the Black River Chapbook Competition in 2019. Her fiction has been published or is forthcoming in Wigleaf, SmokeLong Quarterly, CHEAP POP, Fractured Lit, Mom Egg Review, Bamboo Ridge, and elsewhere.

Miriam Ruth, the Mother Superior, determinedly keeps young, novice nun Agnes from the doctor, further arousing Livingstone's suspicions.
