CHEM 105 General Chemistry I & Laboratory - 4 credits

Topics include atomic structure, physical properties of gases, nomenclature, molecular bonding and geometry, mass relationships in chemical equations, and thermochemistry. Because the course assumes adequate knowledge of algebra, the following is strongly recommended: prior completion or current enrollment in Mathematics 111 or higher, or a mathematics SAT score of 510 or higher, or an ACT score of at least 21.

Note:

This course applies toward completion of all undergraduate degree programs at Indiana State University.

In addition, this course is part of the Indiana Core Transfer Library and will transfer to all Indiana public college and university campuses, assuming adequate grades. For transfer to Indiana private colleges, contact the admissions office at the private college.

Most out-of-state public colleges and universities (and some private schools) will accept this course as transfer credit. However, students must contact the admissions office at the appropriate college or university to verify transferability and applicability of this particular course to their intended program of study.
