Staff Award for Community Engagement

Presentation of the Indiana State University Staff Award for Community Engagement will be made to one or more staff who have contributed to the Wabash Valley through development and creative outreach to a community partner. This award recognizes staff for their outstanding service and acknowledgement of the university’s commitment to engagement.

Eligibility and Nomination

Any fulltime staff member who has been employed by Indiana State University for at least one year is eligible to be nominated.

  • Staff members can be nominated by a member of the community or by Indiana State faculty, staff or students.

Review

Community agency/partners will be asked to provide a letter of support for the nominee.

Nominees will be asked to submit personal statements describing:

  • Their activities involving the community agency/partner
  • Hours of service given to the community agency/partner
  • Impact of service to the community agency/partner

Award Criteria

The award will be based on evidence of exemplary community engagement in the form of

  • Recognized participation in leadership and service activities
  • Direct service to the community agency/partner and its constituency

Selection

A screening committee composed of staff and students will review nominations and select the award recipient.
