Disability Services Advisory Board

The purpose of the Disability Services Advisory Board (DSAB) is to offer counsel and advice on achieving the goals of the Student Support Services Program with respect to services for students with disabilities.  The Disability Services Advisory Board (DSAB) is comprised of student, staff, and faculty members.  The goal of the board is to have the majority of members be students.

The DSAB objectives include advising the goals of the Student Support Services Program with respect to:

  • Enabling students with disabilities to participate in and benefit from University programs and activities by providing services, accommodations, and assistive technology.
  • Ensuring the ISU environment is free of both physical barriers and barriers of attitude.
  • Encouraging students with disabilities to become as independent and self-reliant as possible and to inform students of their responsibilities to secure services and accommodations.
  • Providing information and consultation about specific disabilities to the entire ISU community.

Meetings are held once a month but this varies depending on needs and tasks.   The meetings are located in room 103 of the Cunningham Memorial Library (which is the Faculty Center for Teaching Excellence.
