December 2020 Graduation Ceremonies - Transitioned to Virtual
December live commencement exercises are now transitioning to a virtual ceremony, to be held at some point early in 2021. This commencement webpage will be updated regularly to provide information to students and their loved ones. Additional questions should be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Students who were unable to walk in December will be allowed to walk in May 2021 by completing this form. As the spring 2021 semester approaches, we will communicate more details regarding ceremonies. Spring 2021 commencement is currently scheduled for May 8, 2021.
For additional information, please refer to the Academic Affairs Commencement page.
Applying to Graduate

To apply, sign in to your MyISU account and select the Student Self-Service Badge. Select the "Apply for Graduation - Undergraduate Students" link, then select your graduation term and indicate whether or not you plan to attend commencement.
You can also use this page to update to a later graduation date if necessary.
If your major(s)/minor(s) are incorrect, or if you have any questions, please contact the Office of Registration and Records.
Graduation Application Deadline
You have until the close of business on the last day of the term to apply to graduate. In order for your name to appear in the commencement program, or to be considered for graduation awards, the deadline to apply is October 15th for Fall graduates and March 15th for Spring and Summer graduates.
Completing Graduation Requirements
It is your responsibility to verify that you have completed any requirements for graduation. Contact your academic advisor to make sure you have completed all requirements.
Any coursework earned at another institution must be on file in the Office of Admissions on or before the close of the semester your degree is to be awarded in.
Baccalaureate candidates must have at least a 2.00 GPA and 120 earned semester hours, in addition to meeting all requirements for their program.
Receiving Your Diploma
You will receive a diploma cover at the commencement ceremony. Your complimentary paper diploma will be mailed directly to the address on file with ISU 3-4 weeks after the ceremony. Beginning with spring 2020 graduates, in addition to the paper diploma, all graduates will receive an eDiploma free of charge. Your ISU eDiploma is a signed and certified PDF of your original paper diploma used for easy diploma verification purposes. You will receive a Secure ID via your MyISU email to access your eDiploma once your complimentary paper diploma has been ordered (by ISU) and mailed.
A free copy of your transcript will also be mailed to this address, and will arrive before your diploma.
If your mailing address will change, you can update your address online through your MyISU account.
Summer Graduates - Commencement
Students who complete requirements for graduation in the summer term will be included in the Spring commencement ceremony. If you apply for graduation during a summer term, you will automatically be eligible for inclusion in that Spring commencement ceremony.
