Arrival Fall 2020
Welcome to Indiana State University! We're excited to have you on campus for the 2020-2021 academic schoool year. As you can imagine, things will be a little different this year due to the global pandemic. The information below will give you everything you need for a quick, efficient and physically distant move-in.
Recently we sent an email to students' Sycamore Email. That email can be read here as well as the link below:
To promote physical distancing and reduce crowd sizes during move-in, ResLife has extended move-in to include August 9th-16th for incoming students, and August 9th-17th for returning students.
Students MUST select a move-in time slot in their housing portal. Students should check their Sycamore Email for instructions on how to select these time slots.
To check-in, students MUST have their Sycamore ID with them. Students can request their Sycamore ID using the link below and selecting the "Sycamore ID" tab and following the prompts.
BEFORE YOU COME
- Select your move-in appointment
- Make sure you have requested your Sycamore ID
- Register any devices that will need to use the internet (your computer, phone, gaming system) with the Office of Information Technology
- Review Indiana State University's COVID arrival policies
- Check your housing assignment in your housing portal
WHAT TO EXPECT
You can enter campus by following signs posted on the streets,and following our Move-In Map below!
Students returning to upperclass residence halls will receive building specific information via their Sycamore Email for how to check-in and receive their key.
You may bring up to TWO (2) guests to help you move-in. All guests entering buildings must wear a face covering in order to enter the building. Move-in crew will not be avialable to assist in move-in this year.
Physical distancing will be practiced at all times during move-in, please be sure to stay at least 6 feet away from the people around you.
Capacity in elevators and stairwells will be limited to promote physical distancing
Signs and floor decals will direct you where to stand and which direction to move.
You will have one hour to get your items unloaded and into your room. Once unloaded, you will move your vehicle to a designnated parking area.
If you rented a bed loft or micro-fridge, these will be waiting in your room for you when you get here.
The Office of Residential Life has adjusted housing rates for Fall 2020 to reflect early move-out after Thanksgiving Break. To review these rates, click the link below:
The Office of Residential Life recommends you self-isolate and monitor your physical symptoms during the two weeks prior to coming to campus to increase your ability to come to school healthy.
Meal plans will begin August 9th for brunch and run through move-in week.
Students with pod-style bathrooms will be assigned a specific bathroom based on their gender identity and room number. Signs will be posted describing which room numbers access which bathrooms.
WHAT TO BRING
- A tarp or other covering for your items
- A dolly or cart for large items - one cart will be provided for moving in, while supplies last
- Face coverings for use during move-in
