State Works Award

It embodies social and community engagement and real life experiences. It means job preparedness and working hard. And we have an award program designed exclusively with that in mind—State Works. Here are the details for why you should take advantage of this opportunity.

State Works Award

  • You receive $1,000 ($500 per semester) textbook award to be used at State’s Barnes & Noble bookstore.
  • You are granted an on-campus job opportunity working a minimum of 10 hours per week (approximate $2,640 earning potential for the academic year).
  • Half of your earnings will go directly to your bank account.
  • Half of the earnings will go directly toward your unpaid student balance.

Am I eligible?

You are eligible for State Works if you meet the following criteria. If you:

  • Are a first-time, new freshman in fall 2017
  • Are an Indiana resident.
  • Are unconditionally admitted to Indiana State University.
  • Have completed your FAFSA by March 1.
  • Have demonstrated unmet financial need.

State Works will be awarded to the first 150 eligible students who accept the terms of the award. If you are interested in this opportunity, complete this online form by June 1. You will complete the job placement process during your New Student Orientation this summer and be ready to start when classes begin in the fall!
