TRIO - Student Support Services Program
Serving eligible first-generation, low-income, and/or students with learning or physical disabilities.
The Student Support Services Office provides programming and resources for eligible first-generation, low-income, and/or students with learning or physical disabilities. The federally funded program is designed to help students who feel they may need particular academic supports in order to successfully complete course work.
The academic supports offered to eligible students include the following:
- Designated English and freshman seminar courses
- Academic Counseling
In additiion to the academic supports, career preparation and career counseling are available.
The TRIO SSS staff, also, often serve as liaisons between students and faculty members. They will help to introduce students to the university environment and policies, increase their awareness of their own capabilities, and encourage students to create their own support environments.
