Indiana State Online meets the needs of today’s non-traditional students.  Whether starting or completing a degree, or simply furthering professional skills these programs are in high demand because they allow students to arrange their studies in the way that best fits their professional and personal lives.  All programs administered through Indiana State Online are fully accredited and taught by Indiana State’s high-quality and fully-accessible faculty.

Open Educational Resources

Open Educational Resources are teaching, learning, and research materials that reside in the public domain or have been released under an open license to permit their free use and re-purposing by others.  Since the Indiana State OER program first launched in 2014, faculty have taught 476 OER class sections and more than 14,000 students have participated in OER classes. In 2018-19, the total amount saved through the use of Open Educational Resources was $700,313.83. Students in these courses saved an average of $113.64 each in book expenses.

OERs matter to students.  What are they saying about these courses and materials?

“The format Dr. Wilhelm provided was great, there was so much interaction even within the reading.”

“It was great to have access to the book without having to pay any extra money for it.”

“I loved that we did not have to buy a book!”

Indiana State is committed to enhancing access to higher education and improving the student experience.  The OER program is just one example of this commitment that has an immediate and calculable impact on students.
