Homecoming

Homecoming at Indiana State University dates back to 1919 where proud sycamores promoted pride and school spirit on Blue and White Day. Today, Homecoming consists of a week’s worth of events involving community service, parades, spirit competitions, and evening events. Thanks to Union Board, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and local community can come together and express their pride for the beloved Indiana State University!

Blue & White Homecoming Parade

The homecoming parade is one of the most popular tradition at Indiana State University. Hundreds of spectators from the Terre Haute community gather to showcase their sycamore spirit. It is a great way to get everyone pumped in time for the homecoming game. We encourage everyone to be apart of the parade as it will not disappoint.

If you wish to be in the Blue and White Parade, please complete the appropriate forms below.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Kevon Christian.

Royal Sycamores

*Royal Sycamores 2020 information coming soon!*

The Homecoming Court was an honorable tradition for many years and the Homecoming Committee is excited to bring the tradition back to Indiana State’s campus. Instead of doing the traditional “King and Queen”, we’ve modernized the event and two Sycamores will be crowned “Royal Sycamores”!!

Process and Selection:

Students will apply to be on the Court. To apply, the student must fill out the Homecoming Court 2019 application via the Treehouse (found on the forms tab on the home page) and provide a resume. From here, the applicants packet of information (application and resume) will be reviewed by a panel of faculty and staff. This panel will narrow down the list to five; creating the 2019 Homecoming Court. The members of the Court are chosen based on their qualities in leadership, spirit, and achievement through academics, community service, and involvement on campus. Another panel of faculty and staff will conduct an interview with the members of the Court. This interview, along with a vote by the student population will determine two individuals to be crowned as the Royal Sycamores for 2019 at the Homecoming Football Game on Saturday, October 12!

Requirements: Any undergraduate student who meets the following requirements is eligible for the Homecoming Court:

  • Must apply via the Treehouse (Homecoming Court 2019 - found on the forms tab on the home page )
  • Must be a full-time undergraduate student who has completed at least 15 credit hours (Freshmen II) at the time of application. Freshmen who have not completed at least one semester will not be eligible.
  • Must have and maintain a cumulative 2.75 GPA
  • Must be in good conduct standing with the university
  • Must be able to attend and participate in the Homecoming events outlined in the timeline below. Please review timeline before submitting application.

Please note: The Homecoming Court selection process is not a beauty pageant or popularity contest. Candidates are selected based upon their ability to demonstrate their qualities in leadership, spirit, academic achievement, and campus contribution.

Obligations: All applicants are required to attend an information dinner. Court members will also be required to attend select events throughout Homecoming Week. Members of the court are also required to maintain a positive attitude, serve as role models, and act graciously and ethically during all Court and Homecoming events.
