Mr. J "Brooks" Moore

Associate Vice President for Student Affairs

Brooks Moore serves as the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs at Indiana State University. Serving Indiana State University since January 2012, Brooks supervises Recreational Sports, the Hulman Memorial Student Union, the Office of Campus Life, and the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life. In addition to these functional responsibilities, Brooks advises the Student Government Association and the Student Marketing Company. Brooks provides leadership and support as the Division of Student Affairs coordinator for staff professional development, budget officer, and strategic initiatives coordinator.

Brooks earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi and his Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Florida State University. Brooks is also a 2015 graduate of the Wabash Valley Leadership institute. Prior to moving to Terre Haute and Indiana State University, Brooks worked at the University of Tennessee, University of Illinois, and the University of Southern Mississippi.

Brooks is married to Lisa Ruster Moore of Greenwood, IN and they have two children. Murphy Ann Moore is a fourth-grader at Dixie Bee Elementary and Carter Ruster Moore is a second-grader at Dixie Bee Elementary. In addition, their family is hosting a Rotary International Exchange Student from Denmark, Laura, who is a senior at Terre Haute South Vigo High School. Brooks is involved with the United Way Success By Six program where he serves Terre Town Elementary through the Real Men Read program and serves on the United Way early childhood education annual review team. Brooks is pleased to serve on the Indiana Bicentennial Torch Relay – Vigo County Coordinating Committee, and as a volunteer with the Terre Haute Torpedoes swim club.
