Mr. Alfred "Al" Perone

Associate Dean of Students and Ombudsperson

Born and raised in Yonkers, NY, Al has adopted Indiana as his home. He currently serves as the Associate Dean of Students and Ombudsperon at Indiana State University where he has worked in a variety of positions over the past 31 years including Director of Student Activities and Organizations, the Greek Advisor and a residence hall director.

He is a graduate of Indiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education.

Al has been the program director for the Indiana Student Affairs Association (ISAA), Midwest Regional President for Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, Chair of the Wabash Valley Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure, Director of the Wabash Valley Names Project Display and President of Leadership Terre Haute. Al currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Community Theater of Terre Haute, is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Terre Haute and many other civic leadership roles serving the Terre Haute community.

On campus, Al serves as Faculty Advisor for the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity as well as the advisor to the Circle K International Chapter. In addition, he is in his 13th year as Co-Director of the Miss Indiana State University Scholarship Program. He enjoys all sports, but is partial to the NY Yankees and the Indiana State Sycamores!
