Each year more than 250 international students study at the Maynooth University for one semester (Fall or Spring) or for the full academic year, as Study Abroad/Exchange students.As a Study Abroad student at National University of Ireland Maynooth, you will be a member of a large multinational student community, but also have individual attention from teaching staff. You can choose from a wide range of academic subjects across three faculties: Faculty of Celtic Studies, Arts & Philosophy; Faculty of Social Science; and Faculty of Science & Engineering, and across all undergraduate levels, 1st to 4th year.

Prerequisites
  • Undergraduate students only
  • ISU cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher for semester travel
  • ISU cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher for summer travel
  • You must have completed 2 full semesters at ISU or other college/universities

Housing

The Halls of Residence on campus are available to all categories of students.

River Apartments Village Apartments Rye Hall Apartments

An 111 apartment complex on the North Campus in 15 halls of residence.

  • All bedrooms are single bed study rooms with En-suite Bathroom
  • Wheelchair accessible rooms are available on request via the Access Office 
  • Access to upper floors is by lift or stair

The Village Halls of Residnce is a 48 apartment complex on the North Campus offering 240 beds in four halls of residence, Riordan, Leavey, Mullin and Hargadon.
 
Each apartment consists of:

  • Five single bed study rooms with two bathrooms shared between 5 residents.
  • Apartments in Village have a cleaning service (not optional) for communal areas which is an additional charge payable by all residents of a Village Apartment
  • Access to upper floors is by stairs only - no lifts

Rye Hall is a 20 apartment complex on the North Campus arranged in three halls, in a mixture of three and four bedrooms.

Each apartment consists of:

  • Three or Four single bed study rooms with two bathrooms shared. A limited number of apartments have a bunk bed option. Bunk rooms are bedrooms only and have very limited study facilities.
  • Access to upper floors can be by lift or stairs depending on the location of the Apartment.
