University of Stirling, Scotland
Welcome to the University of Stirling. This is a wonderful place – beautiful and vibrant, relaxed and engaging. We have one of the finest campuses in Europe and have an excellent reputation for both research and teaching.
We admit around 175 study abroad and exchange students each semester. Around half come as part of organized exchange programs, with partner universities around the world. Others apply directly themselves, or through a study abroad provider listed in the Program Providers page. Most are in their third year of study, but we welcome all students from all years of undergraduate study.
Located in the ancient fortress town of Stirling, the University of Stirling is ranked 1st among universities in Scotland. It is one of the safest campuses in the UK, and offers an exciting mix of both old and new attractions. Stirling, Scotland is known as one of the most attractive places to live in the UK as well. You'll be able to experience a beautiful campus with a loch and an 18th century castle, as well as stunning views and access to a state of the art fitness and golf center.
- Undergraduate students only
- ISU cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
- You must have completed 2 full semesters at ISU or other college/universities
The Study Abroad Course Catalog outlines all the modules available for visiting students in both Autumn and Spring semesters. Students are welcome to apply to take modules in any subject area* provided that they have the appropriate academic background (prerequisites).
For example, if the course module you are interested in undertaking lists two prerequisites, you must have studied at least two modules in this subject at your home university. More detailed information on the cataloged modules can be requested from the individual department.
The University appreciates that moving away from home can be a daunting prospect and therefore provides a priority for all students in their first year of study for accommodation, as long as applications are received by the advertised date. Whether you are here as a Visitor Exchange, Erasmus or FYSAE you can apply for University accommodation. Students will be in a shared, on-campus apartment in which they will have their own bedroom, but share a kitchen, social area, and bathroom facilities.
