Scheduling Exceptions

The Scheduling Form is used for registration that cannot be accomplished on MyISU. Click on the appropriate item below for instructions. [add links below]
* Request to take more than 18 hours in Fall or Spring terms, more than 9 12 hours in Summer
*Request to add a class after the last official date to add has past
*Request to add a class that is full
* Time Conflict between two classes
Requesting overload of credit hours
- Print this overload form and Scheduling Form [link to forms]
- Complete top portion of scheduling form
- Under ‘Courses To Be Added’ complete all fields for each course except Instructor’s and Dept. Chair’s Signature and Date lines. You can include all courses you wish to take during the term, or only the course(s) that exceeds the limit if you have already registered for the others via MyISU
- In ‘Total Hours Enrolled’ note the total number of hours you are requesting for the term.
- Write your phone number in the upper right corner of the form
- Sign and date the form, see your Advisor for signature
- Also fill out overload form with input from your advisor, including all your remaining classes through graduation
- Bring both forms to Rob in TC 101 for the Associate Dean’s review
- If approved we will take the form to the Registrar’s office for processing. If there are questions we will contact you at the number noted on the form.
Override a 'class restriction'
- Print this form [link to form]
- Complete top portion
- Under ‘Courses To Be Added’ complete all fields for each course except Instructor’s and Dept. Chair’s Signature and Date lines. You can include all courses you wish to take during the term, or only the course(s) that exceeds the limit if you have already registered for the others via MyISU
- Take the form to the professor for each course that has a class restriction to request they indicate approval by signing and dating next to the course information. If the professor approves via email, staple the email to the form and write ‘see attached email’ in the ‘Instructor Signature’ area.
- In ‘Total Hours Enrolled’ note the total number of hours you are requesting for the term.
- Write your phone number in the upper right corner of the form.
- Sign and date the form, see your Advisor for signature.
- Take the form to the department chair of whatever department the course is offered in and ask for signature.
- If approved, you will be clear to web register or the form will be taken to the Registrar’s office.
Request for adding a class after the official date

- Complete top portion
- Under ‘Courses To Be Added’ complete all fields for each course except Instructor’s and Dept. Chair’s Signature and Date lines. You can include all courses you wish to take during the term, or only the course(s) that exceeds the limit if you have already registered for the others via MyISU
- Take the form to the professor for each course to request they indicate approval of late registration by signing and dating next to the course information. If the professor approves via email, staple the email to the form and write ‘see attached email’ in the ‘Instructor Signature’ area.
- In ‘Total Hours Enrolled’ note the total number of hours you are requesting for the term.

You can include all courses you wish to take during the term, or only the course(s) that exceeds the limit if you have already registered for the others via MyISU
- Take the form to the professor for each course that has a class restriction is full to request they indicate approval by signing and dating next to the course information. If the professor approves via email, staple the email to the form and write ‘see attached email’ in the ‘Instructor Signature’ area.
- Take the form to your department office (the department of your major)
- If approved, the form will be taken to the Registrar’s office for processing.
Time Conflict between two classes
- Print this form [link to form]
- Complete top portion
- Under ‘Courses To Be Added’ complete all fields for each course except Instructor’s and Dept. Chair’s Signature and Date lines. You can include all courses you wish to take during the term, or only the course(s) that exceeds the limit if you have already registered for the others via MyISU
- Take the form to the professor for each one of the two courses that conflict in time offered, to request they indicate approval by signing and dating next to the course information. If the professor approves via email, staple the email to the form and write ‘see attached email’ in the ‘Instructor Signature’ area.
- Sign and date the form, see your Advisor for signature.
- Take the form to your department office (the department of your major)
- If approved, the form will be takento the Registrar’s office for processing.
