University College Mapworks

What is MAP-Works?

MAP-Works is a tool used by University College Advisors, Residential Life Staff, Faculty, Student Affairs, and a variety of other partners across ISU campus to support students and help them successfully transition in their first year at Indiana State University

How does MAP-Works work?

MAP-Works combines institutional information on students with a survey that first-year students take the first four - five weeks of each semester to create a student profile and outlines each individuals risk of leaving the institution either by choice or through unsuccessful habits and expectations.

The combination of institutional data and student responses creates two reports. One to help students understand their own strengths and weaknesses as they transition to this new experience. The second report is for faculty and staff on the student so that we can reach out to the students and provide valuable resources, programming, and connections to the students to help them be successful at Indiana State University. For assistance with or questions about ISU's MAP-Works initiative please contact Stephanie Pearcy, Director of First-Year Student Outreach and Success.
