Faculty Distinguished Service Award

The Faculty Distinguished Service Award recognizes distinguished service outside the classroom to the university, students, professional organizations, and the community. Excellence in, intensity of, long-term commitment to, and tangible evidence of the impact of service are the criteria considered in the selection of the awards.

Eligibility

To be selected as a candidate the nominee must be a tenured faculty member who has demonstrated service while at Indiana State University in the form of: membership in faculty government at the college, school, or university level; membership on committees within the university; service to student organizations; service to professional organizations; and service to the community.

Selection

  • Faculty, students, alumni, administrators, or community members may make nominations for this award.
  • A committee selected by the university president and chaired by the nonvoting provost and vice president for academic affairs will make the final selection. The committee may solicit further evidence from others who are aware of the nominee's service. A maximum of two awards may be presented at spring commencement.
