Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – Oklahoma City Baptist Children’s Home

Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children is the largest provider of private, not-for-profit, residential childcare in the state. We do not charge for our services or accept government funds. We serve over 200 at-risk youth and families at our four campus locations across the state. We not only provide for their physical needs, but also their emotional, educational and spiritual needs. The Children's Hope program provides a loving home, guidance and support to single mothers and their children with locations in Oklahoma City, Owasso and Madill. Transportation will be by car. Housing and meals provided in rental home. Cost- $325 (Trip open to 10 people)

 

 


 

January 2-8, 2020

 

Guatemala (INTERNATIONAL) De La Gente, Guatemala- Coffee Farming, Youth, Construction, artisan work
This trip gives students the opportunity to do service while experiencing the culture of Guatemala. Working with De La Gente, students will participate in service activities that include volunteering with a local youth organization, agricultural work side by side with local coffee farmers, construction projects, and make an artisan project to bring home. Because this trip requires a flight, your fundraising requirements are higher than the domestic trips. Housing will be in the De La Gente guest house with bunk beds, air conditioned rooms, and meals. Additional cost (one meal not provided on excursion day)

Florida- Marine Science Center, Volusia County Conservation, Ponce Inlet, Florida: 
The Marine Science Center is located in Ponce Inlet, Florida.  The Marine Science Center offers a wide variety of programs and activities for children and adults throughout the year. Students young and old can discover the many wonders of marine life in environmentally rich Volusia County. The center rehabilitates sea turtles and seas birds.  Students will have the opportunity todo beach/jetty clean up, possible collection of fish for exhibits and working with rays and other marine life, and possibility of working with sea birds. Volusia County Conservation works toconserve, maintain and restore the natural environment and provide access for the enjoyment and education of the publicLyonia Environmental Center, Deltona, Florida: The Lyonia Environmental Center is located in Deltona, Florida. The Environmental Center allows unique insight into the delicate ecosystems in Volusia County, and promotes the education of the county’s natural environment, the heritage it sustains, and its challenges. 

Housing and food will be in a rental home on Daytona Beach and meals will be prepared at the house. This trip will be flying, so fundraising requirements will be higher than that of the domestic driving ones

January 3-9, 2020

 

Jamaica (INTERNATIONAL) - Housing, Poverty, Children 
This trip gives students the opportunity to do service while experiencing the culture of Jamaica. Working with IsleGo Missions, students will participate in service activities that include helping with construction of a home, distributing food in Jamaican villages, and playing with children. Housing will be in villas provided by our partner, all meals are included, except for one on your excursion day.
