This is a self portrait. It is a reflection of how I currently feel right now. I feel as though I am drowning with all of the bad news swimming around me. I am very close to the verge of sinking. The water is blue to represent how sad I feel.

This painting is a peaceful feeling that I strive to reach. I used the pink for the water to represent a dream state. It is like looking at the world through rose colored lenses and feeling bliss. The subject is afloat reflecting how happy he is. It is to contrast the drowning state in which I am in in the blue painting.
