Program Description:   Come and join us for a two week trip to Ireland, County Meath and County Tipperary, about an hour outside of Dublin! We will be exploring sustainability initiatives in Ireland and staying at the Clough Jordan Ecovillage for three days during which time you will learn about permaculture agriculture and communal living with the intent of reducing our dependence on petroleum. Then we will be spending a week and a half with home stays in Trim Ireland where we will take part in an ongoing community archeological excavation of a 13th century friary. These classes and the two week faculty-led study abroad field trip from May 16-30 will focus on the sustainability and community archeology of these projects with community service and experiential learning. Students will conduct hands-on research that will advance our understanding of the friary or sustainability issues in Ireland.
