Estimated Cost per Student:   $1,600 (travel expenses). A deposit of $1,000 is required by 15 September 2015 to purchase trans-Pacific airline ticket.
Program Description   The course will present students learning opportunities to explore: (1) cross-cultural perspectives on family structure and development; (2) child development across the life span in different natural cultural contexts; (3) public policy and social interventions to promote family development in different natural cultural context; and (4) cross-cultural influences on social research or scientific inquiry. In this course students will immerse in the learning of culture, history, population; institutions of governance, social welfare, health care, and preventative services. Lastly, students will learn to frame family and child development and service interventions in the framework of ethics and equity. Students will visit mental health, health and social service agencies as well as various cultural centers in the respective countries.
