Program Description   The faculty-led study abroad trip, Learning from the Asian Experience intends to expend ISU students' educational horizons and enhance their global competency in Asian culture. The trip is co-sponsored by two partner universities in Taiwan. The goals for this trip are: 1) gain an appreciation of the differences in cultural practices; 2) develop an in-depth view of teaching strategies and pedagogies used in Chinese classrooms; 3) improve students' interaction and communication with people whose first language is not English; 4) enhance students' knowledge in Chinese philosophy and the educational system.

During the trip, morning hours are scheduled with seminars and knowledge sharing sessions. Afternoon hours are scheduled for community programs or cultural-site visits. School visits will be scheduled in the morning or afternoon hours. A buddy system (each ISU student is paired with 1-2 partner university's students) is used to protect and guide ISU students' cultural learning experiences. Hopefully, this faculty-led study abroad trip will provide you with a new chapter in your life.
