Program Description   The goal of the trip is for students to see the world's largest surplus lines market and to help them learn and understand more about how risk is evaluated and insured. Most of IRM major and minor students' career aspirations are in the insurance and financial industry and this trip will provide an opportunity to connect what they learn from classroom with the real world. During the trip, students will go on tours of business facilities, attend seminars offered by business hosts, and talk to underwriters, risk managers, executives, and brokers. Places where the students will visit include Lloyd's of London, Chartered Insurance Institutes, Willis Re, Aon, Lockton Companies, Crawford & Co, and Bank of England.
From this trip, students will be exposed to different cultures and environments, through which students can develop confidence in accepting differences. Students will gain real-world comprehension of the surplus lines insurance operations concepts they learned in classroom.
