Program Description: | Title of 3-Credit Course: ELED 49ST, Expanding Horizons by Studying Abroad in Ireland. This project provides ISU pre-service Elementary Education majors with global diversity. Students rarely choose to leave the U.S. as they study to become teachers. It is apparent from former travelers evaluations that a study abroad experience changes the ways they think about learning and teaching. Pre-service teachers will be prepared to meet the challenges of foreign travel, to observe a diverse elementary classroom setting, and to reflect upon their personal attitudes and beliefs. |
