Physical Therapy and Sports Rehabilitation Clinic Guidance

1. Staff are to abide to social distancing rules amongst each other remaining 6 feet apart

a. Obviously this is not the case when we are treating patients

2. PTs are to utilize N95 mask while treating each patient while supplies last.  Must utilize other masks at that time.

3. Patient are asked to remain home if ill.

4. Each patient will be screened each time they enter the clinic for the symptoms of COVID19 and temperature checks each time.

a. If patients have symptoms of illness or have fever, they are not treated that day

b. If patient has a cough from other reasons (i.e. smoker's cough), patient is required to wear a mask.

5. Patients who are not required to wear mask due to the difficulty of breathing during treatment, however, may wear masks if they desire.

a. Mask will be provided to patients when desired or when clinician deems necessary for the patient.

b. At risk patients are to wear mask except when having difficulty breathing during treatment

6. Front desk staff is to utilize mask when interacting with patient

7. PTs are to wear gloves while manually treating patients or washing hands immediately following manual use of hands if improved sensation for palpation or technique is needed

8. Treatment beds are to be been separated at least 6 feet apart

9. Equipment shall be cleaned after each use

10. Sanitation of used treatment beds must be completed between patients

11. Daily Equipment cleaning at beginning and at end of the day

12. Constant hand hygiene before and after each patient. Anytime there is accidental touching of ourselves (face, etc), glove removal and practice hand hygiene during treatment.

13. Space treatment times so 2 patients in the clinic at one time

14. Space treatment times in a way to avoid other patients from being in the clinic when more at risk patients are present

15. Limit double booking patients with same PT 

a. If overlap of patients do occur, maintaining patients in locations to remain 6 feet apart

16. Visitors are asked to remain out of the clinic unless needed as a caregiver or accompanying a minor

17. If staff have a known exposure to COVID, that specific staff will remain home and are to following recommendations provided by Health Department regarding quarantine and testing procedures.

18. Facilities staff will thorough cleanings of facility floors, public spaces, and doors on top of what our staff is also doing.

19. A request for a plastic desk shield has been placed to facilities (have not received as of 6/20/20).
