Ms. Lisa McDaniel
Executive Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs
Ms. Lisa McDaniel is a native of Terre Haute and brings more than ten years of experience on ISU’s campus to her role as executive assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs. Announced as the executive assistant on April 12, 2016, Ms. McDaniel had previously served as the Dean’s Assistant in the former Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students office since 2005, assisting the previous three student affairs executives.
Ms. McDaniel is a graduate of Terre Haute North Vigo High School and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in human resource development from ISU. She first began at ISU in 2003 as the office assistant to the Blumberg Center of Interdisciplinary Studies in Special Education. In 2004, Ms. McDaniel became the administrative assistant for ISU’s Project PRE in the Office of School Improvements.
As executive assistant, Ms. McDaniel is responsible for managing the vice president’s office, maintaining the student affairs database and records, the vice president’s correspondence, coordinating divisional logistics, managing divisional financial systems and supervising student workers and graduate assistants.
Prior to her employment at ISU, Ms. McDaniel was a manager and sales supervisor at Sam’s Club (1990-1998) and co-owner and manager of Scott’s Custom Colors of Terre Haute (1994-2005). An active member of the ISU community, Ms. McDaniel has been a team leader for ISU’s United Way Campaign, has served on the President’s Medallion Committee, the Staff Scholarship Committee, the President’s Council on Diversity and the public relations committee of the ISU Staff Council.
Ms. McDaniel resides in Terre Haute with her daughter, Jessica. Her personal interests include reading, exercise and volunteering for the United Way, Hospice and the Special Olympics.
