Established in 2004 by a gift from the estate of Lila Giles in loving memory of her dear friend, Mafalda Brooks. The scholarship is awarded annually to worthy students majoring in elementary education at Indiana State University. Final selection is made by a faculty committee appointed by the chair of the department.
