Established in 2003 by Dr. J. Laurence Passmore, an esteemed professor emeritus of counseling psychology, and by Dr. Barbara Passmore, dean emeritus from the College of Health and Human Performance, the Passmores, together, account for more than 70 years of distinguished service to Indiana State University. The Scholarship will alternate between the College of Education and the College of Health and Human Performance. The award is targeted to help attract the best and the brightest master's degree student in ISU. Besides scholarship, the criteria for the award include demonstrated evidence of leadership and service to the community. Final selection is made by a faculty committee appointed by the chair of the department.
