RSVP for Assessment Day, February 6!

Foundational Studies and the University College Council invite faculty to participate in Assessment Day Saturday, February 6 from 9-3. This year, we will be assessing the many student artifacts collected from the Ethics and Social Responsibility and Social and Behavioral Sciences categories. You need not teach in these areas to help assess artifacts. In fact, assessing is a great way to learn about the work being done in classes across campus. All participants will be trained to use the rubric applied to their assigned artifacts, and everyone will also be paired with another assessor to compare notes and come to decisions on the score for each artifact. Assessment Day is crucial for helping us understand whether students are meeting the goals that Foundational Studies sets out for them, and major changes have been made based on assessment results. If you’d like play an important part in student learning, join us virtually! $50 stipends will be offered to all participants.
