Orientation Opportunities

The Office of New Student Transition Programs hires passionate undergraduate student leaders each year to facilitate transitional programming. Students must be comfortable working in intense team environments, speaking in front of groups of students, and have a deep connection to Indiana State University.

The Orientation Leader (OL) position is an outstanding opportunity to work with a diverse group of individuals to help prepare students and families for their experience at State. They are essential in helping to facilitate the adjustment of new students and families to the ISU community. OLs play a key role in the transition of new students through State Start-Up, a series of one day programs held throughout the month of June.

The Orientation Office Staff position is an outstanding opportunity for any student interested in gaining administrative skills in the area of New Student Transition Programs. They are essential in helping with the behind the scenes logistics to make orientation run smoothly. Office staff plays a key role in making sure the orientation team has everything they need to be successful during orientation programs throughout the summer.

The Transition Mentor position is an outstanding opportunity to meet and mentor a diverse, dynamic group of individuals in order to help prepare them for their experience at State. They are essential in helping to facilitate the adjustment of new students to the ISU community. Mentors play a key role in the transition of new students through summer communication, State Engage, and State Welcome. Training begins the week prior to move-in, allowing Transition Mentors to beat the rush and move-in on campus early.
