At Indiana State, we care for your overall well-being. We want to help you get the care, referrals, and answers you need to ensure your success. Sycamores Care is a campus-wide program that cares for students in distress. The Dean of Students Office collaborates with all Indiana State departments, faculty, staff, students, and their families to create a caring culture at Indiana State.
Family members, fellow students, faculty, staff, and employers can make a referral to Sycamores Care. You may refer yourself too. You can make a referral through the Sycamores Care Referral Form, emailing ISU-DeanOfStudents@mail.indstate.edu, or by calling 812-237-3829.
Some of the areas students are referred for:
- Homesickness
- Family emergency
- Illness/Medical
- Academic
- Injuries and hospitalization
- Feeling lost
- Relationship issues (see below)
- Financial issues
- Behavioral concerns
- Questions in general
If your concern is in regards to sexual assault, dating or domestic violence, or stalking, please see the bottom of the page on how you can be helped. If a student has a complaint/grievance with ISU faculty or staff, they may complete the Student Complaint/Grievance Form.

Sexual Assault / Dating Violence / Domestic Violence / Stalking
If you are the victim of a sexual assault, other sex offense, dating violence, domestic violence or stalking (even if you are not certain) you should consider your reporting options. There are a variety of resources that are confidential and private to help victims.

Law Enforcement:
- We encourage you to contact Law enforcement authorities by contacting 911 or Indiana State University Public Safety (812-237-5555)
- ISU's Title IX Director:
- Regardless if the incident occurred on or off campus please report it to the University’s Title IX Director by completing the Sexual Assault Reporting Form.
- Confidential On-Campus Services (your conversations and information you share cannot be shared with others without your consent):
